DESIRA aims to tackle digitalisation challenges in agriculture, forestry, and rural areas, empowering society and policy-makers to respond effectively. Our Policy Roadmap presents ten transformative pathways to support policies that foster inclusive and sustainable rural digitalisation across Europe.
Using an integrated approach within the framework of Responsible Research and Innovation, the Roadmap provides valuable insights and strategies for policy-makers. It takes into account the diverse contexts of rural areas and extends the focus beyond agriculture.
Drawing on data from National Policy Reports and a comprehensive review of existing policy frameworks, the Roadmap addresses challenges in implementing and evaluating policies. It also identifies the urban-rural digitalisation gap and proposes mechanisms for policy alignment, monitoring, and accountability among Member States.
