The Horizon 2020 project, Enabling, organised an online discussion on 22 June 2020, exploring the current status and challenges of circular economy in rural and non-rural areas of Greece. The topic was addressed from the current perspective of the COVID-19 crisis and the implications that this brings along.
The webinar also discussed the role that RIS3 smart specialisation can play the wider adoption of related policies and practices and the required next steps for a sustainable greener future.
DESIRA partner, Athena Research Centre, presented our approach to digital transformation in rural areas the connection of people – data – things. Additionally, the work of two DESIRA Living Labs, the Biovalley in Finland and Trikala in Greece, were presented as their focus is around circular economy topics.
This meeting was an excellent opportunity to bring together stakeholders from Greece that are working on rural sustainability issues. Watch the recording of the meeting here in Greek language!
