No matter who you are, no matter where you are from, you should have the chance to tap into the infinite potential of the digital era. However, women still face structural challenges that unfairly prevent many of them from unleashing their full potential. In rural and depopulated areas, they face a double hurdle: in addition to the gender gap, they also need to overcome the urban-rural divide to progress and become the leaders that the world needs.

This is why the European Leadership Academy has created the Women’s Academy for Rural Innovation, a ground-breaking programme designed to empower talented women from rural communities to acquire the skills needed to lead Europe’s rural areas into the forefront of the digital revolution.

The programme is focused on entrepreneurship, new technologies, the digitalisation of SMEs, and the keys to sustainable business growth. Through debate, mentors, and expert speakers will delve into the most pressing issues facing women in rural areas, encouraging participants to explore innovative solutions that can deliver tangible results in their region.

Only 15 participants, women of all ages and walks of life living in rural areas across the EU, have been selected by an independent jury and given a full scholarship to attend this unique initiative.

The inaugural edition of the Women’s Academy for Rural Innovation will take place in Castilla y León, Spain, from 23rd to 28th October 2022. All the information regarding the agenda is here.
